- Like as a father pitieth his children,
so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. - If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
- Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
- And rend your heart,
and not your garments,
and turn unto the Lord your God:
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and of great kindness,
and repenteth him of the evil. - Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
but unto thy name give glory,
for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. - Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord,
that delighteth greatly in his commandments. - For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
- For they got not the land in possession by their own sword,
neither did their own arm save them:
but thy right hand, and thine arm,
and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. - And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
- Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
- Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy:
for thou renderest to every man
according to his work.
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
