- No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed,
and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord
and their vindication from me, declares the Lord. - Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord delivers him out of them all. - Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
- Open your mouth, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
- But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. - Cast your burden on the Lord,
and he will sustain you;
he will never permit
the righteous to be moved. - Learn to do good;
seek justice,
correct oppression;
bring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow's cause. - For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
- Then you will understand righteousness and justice
and equity, every good path. - Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.
- Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting! - Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin is a reproach to any people. - For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. - He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God? - Better is a little with righteousness
than great revenues with injustice. - For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
- For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
- Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
- With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor,
but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. - For the Lord is our judge;
the Lord is our lawgiver;
the Lord is our king;
he will save us. - He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord. - But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction.
- Better is the little that the righteous has
than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous.
