- “No weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and this is their vindication from me,”
declares the Lord. - The righteous person may have many troubles,
but the Lord delivers him from them all. - Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
- Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
- Cast your cares on the Lord
and he will sustain you;
he will never let
the righteous be shaken. - Learn to do right; seek justice.
Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
plead the case of the widow. - But let justice roll on like a river,
righteousness like a never-failing stream! - For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
- You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.
- Then you will understand what is right and just
and fair—every good path. - Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting. - Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin condemns any people. - Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God. - For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. - Better a little with righteousness
than much gain with injustice. - Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
- No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
- Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
- But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile.
- For the Lord is our judge,
the Lord is our lawgiver,
the Lord is our king;
it is he who will save us. - With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors,
but through knowledge the righteous escape. - The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love. - There is a way that appears to be right,
but in the end it leads to death.
In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness.Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.Next verse!With image
