  • He was despised and rejected by men,
    a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
    and as one from whom men hide their faces
    he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
  • He sent out his word and healed them,
    and delivered them from their destruction.
  • For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
  • And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
  • I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.
  • And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.
  • For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.
  • The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
    but the simple go on and suffer for it.
  • Everyone also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God.
  • And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
  • Even to your old age I am he,
    and to gray hairs I will carry you.
    I have made, and I will bear;
    I will carry and will save.
  • And they stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
  • Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”

  • Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.
  • Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
  • For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
  • For “Whoever desires to love life
    and see good days,
    let him keep his tongue from evil
    and his lips from speaking deceit;
    let him turn away from evil and do good;
    let him seek peace and pursue it.”
  • The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.
  • But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
  • Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!
