  • The proud man’s heart is not upright,
but the righteous man will live
    because of his faith.
  • God is faithful, and it is by him that you have been called into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
  • For all have sinned and thereby are deprived of the glory of God, and all are justified by the gift of his grace that is given freely through the redemption in Christ Jesus.
  • The Lord makes a man’s steps secure
when he approves of his conduct.
  • Never will I forget your commands,
for through them you have given me life.
  • Do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewal of your minds, so that you will be able to discern the will of God and to know what is good and acceptable and perfect.
  • In that way, I can come to you in joy, if God so wills, and be refreshed together with you.
  • He is the reflection of God’s glory
and the perfect expression of his very being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word.
    Achieving purification from sins,
he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
  • His divine power has bestowed on us everything that is necessary for life and for devotion through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue.
  • When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each one of you from your wicked ways.
  • Like newborn infants, long for pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may advance on the path to salvation.
  • You must understand, brethren, that it is through him that forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you. All those who believe are justified from all the things from which they could not be justified by the Law of Moses.
  • Blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and whose hope is the Lord.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that spreads out its roots to the stream.
    When the heat comes, it does not fear;
    its leaves stay green.
It is not concerned in a year of drought,
and it never fails to bear fruit.
  • In it the righteousness of God is revealed, beginning in faith and established in faith. As it is written: “The one who is righteous will live through faith.”
  • Let everyone submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which derives from God, and whatever authorities exist have been instituted by God.
  • But God is rich in his mercy, and because he had such great love for us, he brought us to life with Christ when we were already dead through sin—it is by grace that you have been saved.
  • By faith Abraham also received the power of procreation, even though he was well past the age—and Sarah herself was barren—because he believed that the one who had made the promise would be faithful in fulfilling it.
  • For I am longing to see you so that I may bestow on you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or, rather, so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.
  • And now it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. The life I live now in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.
  • May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may grow rich in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • Treasures obtained by wicked means profit nothing,
but a righteous life brings delivery from death.
  • Therefore, brethren, I implore you by the mercies of God to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice that is holy and acceptable to God—a spiritual act of worship.
  • By these he has given us his precious promises, great beyond all price, so that through them you may escape from the corruption with which evil desires have infected the world and thereby may come to share in the divine nature.
  • Anyone who has received my commandments
    and observes them
is the one who loves me.
    And whoever loves me
will be loved by my Father,
    and I will love him
    and reveal myself to him.
  • I am the gate.
    Anyone who enters through me
    will be saved.
He will go in and out
    and will find pasture.

Therefore, observe the commandments of the Lord, your God. Walk in his ways and fear him.

Bible verse of the day

It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior,
one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city.
