Bible Verses about 'Giving to the needy'
- Defend the poor and fatherless:
do justice to the afflicted and needy. - And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
- Open thy mouth, judge righteously,
and plead the cause of the poor and needy. - Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
- Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
- Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.
- The statutes of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart:
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes. - And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
- Turn not to the right hand nor to the left:
remove thy foot from evil. - The rich ruleth over the poor,
and the borrower is servant to the lender. - Let us search and try our ways,
and turn again to the Lord. - Pleasant words are as an honeycomb,
sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. - To do justice and judgment
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. - But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
- He giveth power to the faint;
and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. - The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again:
but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. - And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
- Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
- Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
- Lying lips are abomination to the Lord:
but they that deal truly are his delight. - The way of the Lord is strength to the upright:
but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. - It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy,
and after vows to make enquiry. - I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
- And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
- O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord:
my goodness extendeth not to thee. - He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous:
he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. - I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live:
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. - Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
- Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil:
but to the counsellors of peace is joy. - For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
- And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
- But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
- Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
- The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.
- Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Teach me to do thy will;
for thou art my God:
thy spirit is good;
lead me into the land of uprightness. - A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
- In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
- But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
- And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
- Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
- For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
- And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
- And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
- And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
- And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
- Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
- Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.
Lord, hear my voice:
let thine ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplications. - As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
- Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.Next verse!With image
