Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.He it is who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.

No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father's heart, who has made him known.

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. And so we will be with the Lord forever.For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel's call and with the sound of God's trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
