he took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.

he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross. - He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.

- He personally carried our sins
in his body on the cross
so that we can be dead to sin
and live for what is right.

those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. - I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself.

First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
- I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
