Chinese (traditional)- We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
- Teach me your way, Lord,
that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name. - Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
- “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.
- May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;
establish the work of our hands for us—
yes, establish the work of our hands. - You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
- You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.
- In their hearts humans plan their course,
but the Lord establishes their steps. - You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
- Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life. - Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
- Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. - “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
and from doing as you please on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a delight
and the Lord’s holy day honorable,
and if you honor it by not going your own way
and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,
then you will find your joy in the Lord,
and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land
and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.”
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
- The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
- A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger. - You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
- But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.
- Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
- “Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.” - I am the Lord your God; follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Keep my Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.
- Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
- For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
- It was not by their sword that they won the land,
nor did their arm bring them victory;
it was your right hand, your arm,
and the light of your face, for you loved them. - Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world.
A fool spurns a parent’s discipline,
but whoever heeds correction shows prudence. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.Next verse!With image
