Bible Verses about 'Matthew 11:2'

  • Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
  • Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
  • How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
  • And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
  • Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
  • But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.
  • The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.
  • “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
  • And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
  • I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
  • For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
  • What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
  • For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.
  • While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
  • He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
  • If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.
  • If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
  • For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
  • Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
  • “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
  • Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
  • ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’
  • Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
  • Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
  • But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
  • We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!
  • Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave.
  • Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
  • The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
“Hosanna to the Son of David!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
    “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
  • Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”
  • If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
  • Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
  • And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
  • But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
  • And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
  • So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
  • Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
  • Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
  • So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
  • His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
  • While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
  • Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
  • Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
  • Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?
  • They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said.
  • Above his head they placed the written charge against him: this is jesus, the king of the jews.
  • The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.”
  • Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
  • This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
  • But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”
