Bible Verses about 'Proverbs 21:31'
- Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
but the Lord weighs the heart. - To do righteousness and justice
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. - Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness
will find life, righteousness, and honor. - All day long he craves and craves,
but the righteous gives and does not hold back. - A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold. - The reward for humility and fear of the Lord
is riches and honor and life. - Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it. - The rich rules over the poor,
and the borrower is the slave of the lender. - Do not toil to acquire wealth;
be discerning enough to desist. - When your eyes light on it, it is gone,
for suddenly it sprouts wings,
flying like an eagle toward heaven. - My son, if your heart is wise,
my heart too will be glad. - The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him. - Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, there will be a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. - A man without self-control
is like a city broken into and left without walls. - Do not forsake your friend and your father's friend,
and do not go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity.
Better is a neighbor who is near
than a brother who is far away. - The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it. - Iron sharpens iron,
and one man sharpens another. - As in water face reflects face,
so the heart of man reflects the man. - If one turns away his ear from hearing the law,
even his prayer is an abomination. - Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper,
but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. - A fool gives full vent to his spirit,
but a wise man quietly holds it back. - One's pride will bring him low,
but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. - The fear of man lays a snare,
but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. - Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - Remove far from me falsehood and lying;
give me neither poverty nor riches;
feed me with the food that is needful for me. - Open your mouth for the mute,
for the rights of all who are destitute. - Open your mouth, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - An excellent wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels. - Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction. - If you turn at my reproof,
behold, I will pour out my spirit to you;
I will make my words known to you. - For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - Guarding the paths of justice
and watching over the way of his saints. - Then you will understand righteousness and justice
and equity, every good path. - My son, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments,
for length of days and years of life
and peace they will add to you. - Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good success
in the sight of God and man. - Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths. - Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones. - Honor the Lord with your wealth
and with the firstfruits of all your produce. - My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline
or be weary of his reproof,
for the Lord reproves him whom he loves,
as a father the son in whom he delights. - Blessed is the one who finds wisdom,
and the one who gets understanding. - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to do it. - Do not envy a man of violence
and do not choose any of his ways,
for the devious person is an abomination to the Lord,
but the upright are in his confidence. - Get wisdom; get insight;
do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. - The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
and whatever you get, get insight. - Hear, my son, and accept my words,
that the years of your life may be many. - I have taught you the way of wisdom;
I have led you in the paths of uprightness. - My son, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Let them not escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart. - Keep your heart with all vigilance,
for from it flow the springs of life.
