Bible Verses about 'Proverbs 25:21'
- A person without self-control
is like a city with broken-down walls. - Never abandon a friend—
either yours or your father’s.
When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance.
It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away. - A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.
The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. - As iron sharpens iron,
so a friend sharpens a friend. - As a face is reflected in water,
so the heart reflects the real person. - God detests the prayers
of a person who ignores the law. - People who conceal their sins will not prosper,
but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy. - Fools vent their anger,
but the wise quietly hold it back. - Pride ends in humiliation,
while humility brings honor. - Fearing people is a dangerous trap,
but trusting the Lord means safety. - Every word of God proves true.
He is a shield to all who come to him for protection. - First, help me never to tell a lie.
Second, give me neither poverty nor riches!
Give me just enough to satisfy my needs. - Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves;
ensure justice for those being crushed. - Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless,
and see that they get justice. - Who can find a virtuous and capable wife?
She is more precious than rubies. - Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. - Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline. - Come and listen to my counsel.
I’ll share my heart with you
and make you wise. - For the Lord grants wisdom!
From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. - He guards the paths of the just
and protects those who are faithful to him. - Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,
and you will find the right way to go. - My child, never forget the things I have taught you.
Store my commands in your heart.
If you do this, you will live many years,
and your life will be satisfying. - Never let loyalty and kindness leave you!
Tie them around your neck as a reminder.
Write them deep within your heart.
Then you will find favor with both God and people,
and you will earn a good reputation. - Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take. - Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Then you will have healing for your body
and strength for your bones. - Honor the Lord with your wealth
and with the best part of everything you produce. - My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline,
and don’t be upset when he corrects you.
For the Lord corrects those he loves,
just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights. - Joyful is the person who finds wisdom,
the one who gains understanding. - Do not withhold good from those who deserve it
when it’s in your power to help them. - Don’t envy violent people
or copy their ways.
Such wicked people are detestable to the Lord,
but he offers his friendship to the godly. - Get wisdom; develop good judgment.
Don’t forget my words or turn away from them. - Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do!
And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. - My child, listen to me and do as I say,
and you will have a long, good life. - I will teach you wisdom’s ways
and lead you in straight paths. - My child, pay attention to what I say.
Listen carefully to my words.
Don’t lose sight of them.
Let them penetrate deep into your heart. - Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life. - Avoid all perverse talk;
stay away from corrupt speech. - Look straight ahead,
and fix your eyes on what lies before you. - Mark out a straight path for your feet;
stay on the safe path. - Don’t get sidetracked;
keep your feet from following evil. - My son, obey your father’s commands,
and don’t neglect your mother’s instruction. - Can he walk on hot coals
and not blister his feet? - All who fear the Lord will hate evil.
Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance,
corruption and perverse speech. - For whoever finds me finds life
and receives favor from the Lord. - Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.
Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. - A wise child brings joy to a father;
a foolish child brings grief to a mother. - Tainted wealth has no lasting value,
but right living can save your life. - The godly are showered with blessings;
the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions. - We have happy memories of the godly,
but the name of a wicked person rots away.
