- For I hold you by your right hand—
I, the Lord your God.
And I say to you,

Do not ignore the helpless! - Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.

Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly. - The commandments of the Lord are right,
bringing joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
giving insight for living. - So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.
- I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.
- We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

and we can trust everything he does. - When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.
- Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.
- But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
- Remember that you were once slaves in Egypt, but the Lord your God brought you out with his strong hand and powerful arm. That is why the Lord your God has commanded you to rest on the Sabbath day.

He protects the lives of his godly people
and rescues them from the power of the wicked. - But if wicked people turn away from all their sins and begin to obey my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live and not die.
- Work hard and become a leader;
be lazy and become a slave. - Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit within me. - Let those who are wise understand these things.
Let those with discernment listen carefully.
The paths of the Lord are true and right,
and righteous people live by walking in them.
But in those paths sinners stumble and fall. - “All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence.
- The Lord is good and does what is right;
he shows the proper path to those who go astray.
He leads the humble in doing right,
teaching them his way. - You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.
- So if your eye—even your good eye—causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
- Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.
- Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,
and you will find the right way to go. - For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.
- Everyone enjoys a fitting reply;
it is wonderful to say the right thing at the right time! - O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!
- Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
- “The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”
- If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.
- The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just
than when we offer him sacrifices. - Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.”
- From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”
- I will teach you wisdom’s ways
and lead you in straight paths. - But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.
- Look straight ahead,
and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
