- Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”
- He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
- Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
- Listen, my son, accept what I say,
and the years of your life will be many. - Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
- What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
- You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.
- You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.
- For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
- I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’
- “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.
- From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
- Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.”
- You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.
- My son, pay attention to what I say;
turn your ear to my words.
Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart. - For I am the Lord your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you. - Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
- We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
- But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King.
- Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.”
- “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.
- But I, with shouts of grateful praise,
will sacrifice to you.
What I have vowed I will make good.
I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’ - Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
- Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.
- You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
