- For:
“If anyone wishes to love life
and to experience good days,
he must restrain his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
He must turn away from evil and do good,
seek peace and pursue it.” - Dear children,
let us love not in word or speech
but in deed and truth. - The one who leads a blameless life
and does what is right,
who speaks the truth from the heart
and does not slander anyone,
who does not harm a friend
and does not scorn a neighbor. - Where many words are spoken, sin is not absent,
but whoever restrains his tongue is prudent. - No weapon used against you will prevail,
and you will refute every accusation
that is raised in court against you.

their vindication from me, says the Lord. - The lips of a fool cause strife,
and his mouth provokes a flogging. - Righteousness is a sign of a nation’s greatness,

but one who talks excessively ensures his own downfall. - Therefore, let us cease passing judgment on one another, but rather judge never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
