He must increase; I must decrease. | He must increase, but I must decrease. |
Whom do I have in heaven except you? And besides you there is nothing else I desire on earth. | Whom do I have in heaven but You? And with You, I desire nothing on earth. |
Does it now appear to you that I am trying to gain the approval of human beings rather than the approval of God? Am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. | For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ. |
I keep the Lord always before me, for with him at my right hand I will never fall. | I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. |
If I give away everything to feed the poor and hand over my body to be burned, but do not have love, I achieve nothing. | And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good. |
I will extol you, my God and King; I will bless your name forever and ever. | I will exalt You, my God, the King, And I will bless Your name forever and ever. |

I will offer praise to you, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will recount all your wondrous deeds. | I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders. |
At dawn let me experience your kindness, for in you I place my trust. Show me the path I must walk, for to you I lift up my soul. | Let me hear Your faithfulness in the morning, For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul. |
For this reason, I rejoice when I endure weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and distress for the sake of Christ. For it is when I am weak that I am strong. | Therefore I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in distresses, in persecutions, in difficulties, in behalf of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong. |
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled; be not afraid. | Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful. |
I will give thanks to you among the peoples, O Lord; I will sing your praises among the nations. | I will give thanks to You, Lord, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. |
But as for me, I will look to the Lord. I place my hope in God my savior; my God will hear me. | But as for me, I will be on the watch for the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. |
I shall forgive them for their wicked deeds, and I shall remember their sins no more. | For I will be merciful toward their wrongdoings, And their sins I will no longer remember. |

I will instruct you and guide you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and keep my eyes upon you. | I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will advise you with My eye upon you. |
Amen, amen, I say to you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do, and indeed will do even greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father. | Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to the Father. |
