Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. | Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God. |
Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near. | Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. |
But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. | But the one who endures to the end will be saved. |
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. | God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God. |
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. | God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. |
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. | Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. |
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. | And forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. |
And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ | A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ |
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. | But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. |
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. | You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it. |

But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. | But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then. |

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” | Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” |
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. | You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. |
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. | So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. |

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. | But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! |
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. | God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied. |
