- Keep thy tongue from evil,
and thy lips from speaking guile. - But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.
- But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

and with thy honour all the day. - Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
- Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
- Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
- That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
- Without counsel purposes are disappointed:
but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. - Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
- But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
- While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
- Pleasant words are as an honeycomb,
sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. - O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name:
make known his deeds among the people. - Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
- So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. - Let the words of my mouth,
and the meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in thy sight,
O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. - A fool hath no delight in understanding,
but that his heart may discover itself. - Deliver my soul, O Lord,
from lying lips,
and from a deceitful tongue. - An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour:
but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. - A fool's lips enter into contention,
and his mouth calleth for strokes. - Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop:
but a good word maketh it glad. - In all labour there is profit:
but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. - If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
- For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
- And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
- And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
- When I kept silence, my bones waxed old
through my roaring all the day long. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable:
but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. - But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
- For there is not a word in my tongue,
but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. - It is an honour for a man to cease from strife:
but every fool will be meddling.
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
