- Protect me, O God,
for in you I take refuge. - And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
- It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to place your trust in mortals. - And take the helmet of salvation as well as the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

to take them out of the world,
but I do ask you

- He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
- The way of God is blameless;
the Lord’s promise has proved true.
He is a shield to all
who take refuge in him. - Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
- Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done.
- Be strong and courageous in your hearts,
all you who place your hope in the Lord. - I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Repent and live!

In the world
you will endure suffering.
But take courage!
I have overcome the world. - I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you already have so that no one may rob you of your crown.
- For we brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing out. If we have food and clothing, let us be content with these.
- Take care, brethren, that none of you will ever have an evil and unbelieving heart that will cause you to forsake the living God.
- Every word of God has proved to be true;
he is a shield to those who trust in him. - So today acknowledge it and take it to heart that the Lord is God in the heavens above and on the earth below. There is no other.

which you have stored up for those who fear you
and which you bestow on those who take refuge in you,
in the presence of all the people. - Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your noble confession of faith in the presence of many witnesses.
- After this, he said to the crowd, “Take care to be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not depend upon an abundance of one’s possessions.”
- I love you, O Lord, my strength,
O Lord, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer.
My God is my rock in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold. - So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own.
- As for you, my child, take strength from the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
- The way of God is blameless,
and the Lord’s promise proves true;
he is a shield to all
who flee to him for safety. - And yet he is aware of everywhere I go;

He takes care of those who place their trust in him. - Listen, my son, and take my words to heart,
and the years of your life will be multiplied. - After he had decided to follow this course of action, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to receive Mary into your home as your wife. For this child has been conceived in her womb through the Holy Spirit.”
- Therefore, put on the armor of God, so that you will be able to hold fast on the evil day and to hold your ground with all your strength.
- The Lord redeems the lives of those who serve him;
no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him. - So Christ, having been offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to bring salvation to those who are eagerly waiting for him.
- Why do you take note of the splinter in your brother’s eye but do not notice the wooden plank in your own eye?
- The brother who is in modest circumstances should take pride in being raised up. Likewise, the one who is rich should glory in being brought low, for he will disappear like a flower of the field.
- Dearly beloved, never seek revenge. Leave that to the time of retribution. For it is written, “Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. I will repay.”
- Take heed to follow the commandments and the laws that Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave you: to love the Lord, your God, and to walk in his ways and to observe his commandments, holding fast to him and serving him with all your heart and all your soul.
- The Lord God said, “Behold, man has become like one of us, for he has knowledge of that which is good and that which is evil. Now, we must prevent him from reaching out and taking the fruit of the tree of life lest he eat it and live forever.” The Lord God cast him out of the Garden of Eden; henceforth he was to labor tilling the soil from which he had come.
- I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you. I will remove from your body a heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh in its place.
- You shall take heed to observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, and the decrees and statutes that he has given to you.
