Chinese (traditional)What a person desires is unfailing love;
better to be poor than a liar. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart. To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” But godliness with contentment is great gain. Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin. The soothing tongue is a tree of life,
but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always. Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord. You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. You, God, are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
where there is no water. Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God. Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord,
and humility comes before honor. Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance.Next verse!With image
