Chinese (traditional)Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect. Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord. Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable. For
“Those who desire life
and desire to see good days,
let them keep their tongues from evil
and their lips from speaking deceit;
let them turn away from evil and do good;
let them seek peace and pursue it.” One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and one whose temper is controlled than one who captures a city. He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. So teach us to count our days
that we may gain a wise heart. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. And even the hairs of your head are all counted. So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows. Jesus said to him, “If you are able!—All things can be done for the one who believes.” To get wisdom is to love oneself;
to keep understanding is to prosper. And live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
he who begets a wise son will be glad in him. Very truly, I tell you, whoever receives one whom I send receives me; and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. And he said to them, “Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.” You show me the path of life.
In your presence there is fullness of joy;
in your right hand are pleasures forevermore. For I handed on to you as of first importance what I in turn had received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures. I tell you, on the day of judgment you will have to give an account for every careless word you utter. A friend loves at all times,
and kinsfolk are born to share adversity. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it,
the world, and those who live in it. For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life? The grass withers, the flower fades;
but the word of our God will stand forever. Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace. Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it. Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge. For as all die in Adam, so all will be made alive in Christ. Deceit is in the mind of those who plan evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy.
