Chinese (traditional)If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding,
but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. You are a hiding place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit. No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. For he satisfies the longing soul,
and the hungry soul he fills with good things. For we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
and perverted speech I hate. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good success
in the sight of God and man. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Keep steady my steps according to your promise,
and let no iniquity get dominion over me. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his presence continually! Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors. The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;
I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.Next verse!With image
