Chinese (traditional)“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.” Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. My mouth is filled with your praise,
declaring your splendor all day long. Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Here is a trustworthy saying:
If we died with him,
we will also live with him. My times are in your hands;
deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
from those who pursue me. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. To do what is right and just
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge. So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. See, the enemy is puffed up;
his desires are not upright—
but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. Better the little that the righteous have
than the wealth of many wicked;
for the power of the wicked will be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous. We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life! And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people. God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. The Lord will rescue his servants;
no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity! Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory.
