Chinese (traditional)As iron sharpens iron,
so a man sharpens the wits of his neighbor. Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the presbyters of the Church so that they may pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven. You shall observe my commandments and obey them. I am the Lord. Put your trust in the Lord and do good,
that you may dwell in the land and be secure. You did not choose me.
Rather, I chose you.
And I appointed you
to go out and bear fruit,
fruit that will remain,
so that the Father may give you
whatever you ask him in my name. He said to them, “Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” All day long the godless man continues to covet,
whereas the righteous man gives unsparingly. The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these. You will not add to what I command you, nor will you take away from it, so that you might observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, that I am giving you. Your statutes are my everlasting heritage;
they are the very joy of my heart. However, to avoid the temptation to immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. He who guards his mouth makes his life secure,
but one who talks excessively ensures his own downfall. The brother who is in modest circumstances should take pride in being raised up. Likewise, the one who is rich should glory in being brought low, for he will disappear like a flower of the field. And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. You are all-beautiful, my love,
without the slightest blemish. Do not be afraid or dismayed, the Lord will go before you; he will not fail or forsake you. His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Since you have been faithful in small matters, I will give you much greater responsibilities. Come and share your master’s joy.’ Surely God is my helper;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know him. He gives strength to the weary
and new vigor to those who are powerless. I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
I have set your judgments before me. Therefore, heed my words. Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat or drink, or about your body and what you will wear. Surely life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. The Lord said to Moses, “Climb up to me on the mountain and remain there. I will give you stone tablets with the laws and commandments that I have written for their instruction.” The one who pays heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. Therefore, while we have the opportunity, let us labor for the good of all, but especially for those members of the household of the faith. The second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Trust wholeheartedly in the Lord
rather than relying on your own intelligence.
In everything you do, acknowledge him,
and he will see that your paths are straight. Why do you take note of the splinter in your brother’s eye but do not notice the wooden plank in your own eye? I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars of the heavens and I will give them all these lands. All the nations on the earth will be blessed through your descendants, for Abraham listened to my voice and observed that which I ordered: my commandments, my ordinances and my laws. Whoever heeds admonition is on the path to life,
but anyone who rejects correction goes astray. As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Therefore, we can say with confidence:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?”Next verse!With image
