Chinese (traditional)Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame. A fool gives full vent to his spirit,
but a wise man quietly holds it back. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. In my distress I called upon the Lord;
to my God I cried for help.
From his temple he heard my voice,
and my cry to him reached his ears. But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. What is desired in a man is steadfast love,
and a poor man is better than a liar. As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity
and passing over transgression
for the remnant of his inheritance?
He does not retain his anger forever,
because he delights in steadfast love. A man's gift makes room for him
and brings him before the great. Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to your word. Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in you. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied. That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ. Behold, what I have seen to be good and fitting is to eat and drink and find enjoyment in all the toil with which one toils under the sun the few days of his life that God has given him, for this is his lot. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” Sing to God, sing praises to his name;
lift up a song to him who rides through the deserts;
his name is the Lord;
exult before him!
Father of the fatherless and protector of widows
is God in his holy habitation. And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus. As far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us. He who walks blamelessly and does what is right
and speaks truth in his heart;
who does not slander with his tongue
and does no evil to his neighbor,
nor takes up a reproach against his friend.Next verse!With image
