Chinese (traditional)Blessed are those who mourn,
for they shall be comforted. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor,
but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. The Lord is good,
a stronghold in the day of trouble;
he knows those who take refuge in him. And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in man. But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” We love because he first loved us. When your eyes light on it, it is gone,
for suddenly it sprouts wings,
flying like an eagle toward heaven. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. You shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you. Great peace have those who love your law;
nothing can make them stumble. But as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” O Lord, you are my God;
I will exalt you; I will praise your name,
for you have done wonderful things,
plans formed of old, faithful and sure. A man of many companions may come to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him. I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor. To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
and perverted speech I hate. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?” Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord delivers him out of them all. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful. Therefore you shall keep his statutes and his commandments, which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time. The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. A soft answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger. But test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. As far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us. Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.Next verse!With image
