Chinese (traditional)A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing personal opinion. In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets. You must understand this, my beloved: let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger. Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all day long. You shall not make gods of silver alongside me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold. Who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the ages began. When I am afraid,
I put my trust in you. Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action. Because you are precious in my sight,
and honored, and I love you,
I give people in return for you,
nations in exchange for your life. For who is God except the Lord?
And who is a rock besides our God? Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
my whole life long. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything. For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” The hand of the diligent will rule,
while the lazy will be put to forced labor. Let us therefore no longer pass judgment on one another, but resolve instead never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of another. Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. O Lord, all my longing is known to you;
my sighing is not hidden from you. Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
and whatever else you get, get insight. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up. For he satisfies the thirsty,
and the hungry he fills with good things. He humbled you by letting you hunger, then by feeding you with manna, with which neither you nor your ancestors were acquainted, in order to make you understand that one does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Do all things without murmuring and arguing, so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine like stars in the world. It is by your holding fast to the word of life. He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall never be shaken. I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture. Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning,
for in you I put my trust.
Teach me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul.Next verse!With image
