Chinese (traditional)And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord! And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever! He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity. But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him. But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me. Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. My son, if your heart is wise,
my heart too will be glad. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Cast your burden on the Lord,
and he will sustain you;
he will never permit
the righteous to be moved. And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Get wisdom; get insight;
do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation. I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the straps of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke? And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” For I, the Lord your God,
hold your right hand;
it is I who say to you, “Fear not,
I am the one who helps you.”Next verse!With image
