Chinese (traditional)What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops. Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy. Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out! Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
To him belongs eternal praise. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. “Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord.
“Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God.
Do not forget the helpless. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. You, Lord, reign forever;
your throne endures from generation to generation. So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Whoever pursues righteousness and love
finds life, prosperity and honor. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance. The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.Next verse!With image
