114 Bible Verses about Life (2/5)

« Psalms 118:24 »
King James VersionNew Internation Version
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?” For it is not wise to ask such questions.
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life.Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him. When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”
But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
