- He must increase;
I must decrease. - You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.

I have set your judgments before me. - Every word of God has proved to be true;
he is a shield to those who trust in him. - Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting,

Weeping may last throughout the night,
but at daybreak there is rejoicing. - The way of God is blameless,
and the Lord’s promise proves true;
he is a shield to all
who flee to him for safety. - Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
- Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus.”
- But even so the Lord is waiting to be gracious to you,
and he will rise up to grant you his compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him. - I give them eternal life,
and they will never perish.
No one will ever snatch them from my hand.
My Father who has given them to me
is greater than all,
and no one can snatch them
out of the Father’s hand.
I and the Father are one. - If you obey the command that I give you today, to love the Lord, your God, and to walk in his ways, and to observe his commandments, statutes, and decrees, then you will live and multiply, and the Lord, your God, will bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.
- Be joyful in your hope. Be patient in times of affliction. Persevere in prayer.
- Jesus answered, “Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not receive in this age a hundred times more houses, brothers and sisters, mothers and children, and lands—as well as persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.”
- How much more valuable a man is than a sheep! Therefore, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.

- Hatred stirs up strife,
but love overlooks all offenses. - And forgive us our debts
as we forgive our debtors. - Bless those who persecute you; bless them and do not curse them.
- Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
- Arise, O Lord! Lift up your hand, O God!
Do not forget the afflicted. - Do not be lacking in zeal, but serve the Lord with spiritual fervor.
- This is my commandment:
love one another
as I have loved you. - As much as possible, and to the extent of your ability, live in peace with everyone.
- Teach us to comprehend how few our days are
so that our hearts may be filled with wisdom. - A fool is quick to show his anger,
but a prudent man ignores an insult. - Anxiety in the human heart weighs it down,
but a kind word makes it glad. - When you call out to me and come forth and pray to me, I will listen to you.
- Let your love be sincere. Loathe what is evil and hold fast to what is good.
- Authority will be granted to the diligent,
but the lazy will be enslaved. - A man is haughty until disaster overtakes him,
but humility comes before honors. - There is a way that seems right to a man,
but the end of it leads to death. - Hope deferred sickens the heart,
but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. - The Lord abhors lying lips,
but he delights in those who are truthful. - While Peter was thus imprisoned, the Church prayed fervently to God for him.
- Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but the one who hates correction is stupid. - Fear not, little flock, for your Father has chosen to give you the kingdom.
- Love one another with genuine affection. Esteem others more highly than yourself.
- Indeed, persecution will afflict all who want to lead a godly life in Christ Jesus.
- As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us. - The words of a wise man win favor,
but a fool’s tongue is his undoing. - Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy.
