but the Lord weighs his motives. - Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his mercy endures forever. - Pleasing words are like a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and affording health to the body. - I keep the Lord always before me,
for with him at my right hand
I will never fall. - Then he said to them, “Go forth into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to all creation.”
- Hence, I advise you to be guided by the Spirit, so that you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
- They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, and so too will your household.”
- Whoever observes the commandments will live,
but the one who scorns them will die. - It is better to have a little and fear the Lord
than to possess immense wealth and suffer anguish. - And when he comes,
he will prove the world wrong
about sin and righteousness and judgment. - The one who pays heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. - And I will ask the Father,
and he will give you another Advocate
to be with you forever. - For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there will also be disharmony and every type of wickedness.
- Do you not realize that you are God’s temple, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
- Wash yourselves and become clean;
remove your evil deeds
far from my sight.
Cease to do evil. - As servants of God, behave as free people, but do not use your freedom as a means to cover up wrongdoing.
- And now, what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized, and have your sins washed away, calling on his name.
- Let your face shine upon your servant;
save me in your kindness. - Until now, in my name,
you have not asked for anything.
Ask and you will receive,
so that your joy may be complete. - I came from the Father
and have come into the world.
Now I am leaving the world
and returning to the Father. - For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
- Then the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city. - May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
- About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

- This is how we know what love is:
he laid down his life for us,
and we in turn must be prepared
to lay down our lives for our brethren. - He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
- For God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may attain eternal life. - What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?
