Chinese (traditional)Bible Verses about 'But'
- But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
- Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- Hatred stirs up conflict,
but love covers over all wrongs. - “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.
- For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning. - I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
- A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger. - Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin condemns any people. - Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
- In their hearts humans plan their course,
but the Lord establishes their steps. - The wicked borrow and do not repay,
but the righteous give generously. - When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom. - But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
- All hard work brings a profit,
but mere talk leads only to poverty. - Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
- I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
- Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
- For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
- Where there is strife, there is pride,
but wisdom is found in those who take advice. - Fools give full vent to their rage,
but the wise bring calm in the end. - But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
- “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.
- Fools show their annoyance at once,
but the prudent overlook an insult. - But godliness with contentment is great gain.
- No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory.
