- Preserve me, O God:
for in thee do I put my trust. - For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
- Wash you, make you clean;
put away the evil of your doings
from before mine eyes;
cease to do evil. - And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
- For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
- As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
- Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
- Defend the poor and fatherless:
do justice to the afflicted and needy. - He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
- Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
- Judge not, that ye be not judged.
- But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
- And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
- In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust;
let me never be ashamed:
deliver me in thy righteousness. - I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait,
and in his word do I hope. - Excellent speech becometh not a fool:
much less do lying lips a prince.
As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
