- As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.
- Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
- Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.
- And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
- Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand:
forget not the humble. - Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
- For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
- Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
- Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
- Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
- Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.
- Labour not to be rich:
cease from thine own wisdom. - Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
- He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good;
and what doth the Lord require of thee,
but to do justly, and to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with thy God? - The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger:
but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. - And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you.
- Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth:
therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty. - Surely the Lord God will do nothing,
but he revealeth his secret
unto his servants the prophets. - For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
- Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
- Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
- For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
- For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
- Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
- Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
