- For unto us a child is born,
unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God,
The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. - For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
- A friend loveth at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. - That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

yea, they may forget,
yet will I not forget thee.
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands;
thy walls are continually before me. - And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
- As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.
- A wise son maketh a glad father:
but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. - Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. - Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

- For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake.
- For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
- My son, if thine heart be wise,
my heart shall rejoice, even mine. - Help us, O God of our salvation,
for the glory of thy name:
and deliver us, and purge away our sins,
for thy name's sake. - And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
- For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
- Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
- But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
- No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
- Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
- Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path. - He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. - Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
- To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
- Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
- Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings;
and the years of thy life shall be many. - And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. - What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
