- For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.

or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb,
so you cannot understand the work of God,
the Maker of all things. - Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
- He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
- This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
- For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
- Listen, my son, accept what I say,
and the years of your life will be many. - This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
- All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
- Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” - He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.
- But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”
- For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
- Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.
- May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us.
- For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word.Next verse!With image
