- For you, O God, have tested us;
you have tried us as silver is tried. - To you, O God of my ancestors,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and power,
and have now revealed to me what we asked of you,
for you have revealed to us what the king ordered. - Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.”
- O how abundant is your goodness
that you have laid up for those who fear you,
and accomplished for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of everyone! - I will never forget your precepts,

The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;

I have no good apart from you.” - My lips will shout for joy
when I sing praises to you;
my soul also, which you have rescued. - For it was you who formed my inward parts;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
that I know very well. - And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
- And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. - When you make a vow to God, do not delay fulfilling it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill what you vow.
- O Lord, you have searched me and known me.
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from far away. - I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
- Ah Lord God! It is you who made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.

I give people in return for you,
nations in exchange for your life. - But I will sing of your might;

plans formed of old, faithful and sure. - Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, you will find a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. - Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life, to which you were called and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
- Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”
- If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one.

and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. - Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
- No one who denies the Son has the Father; everyone who confesses the Son has the Father also.
- As a father has compassion for his children,
so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him. - So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
- No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father's heart, who has made him known.
- Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.
- So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!
- He has made everything suitable for its time; moreover he has put a sense of past and future into their minds, yet they cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
- And hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
- But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the human heart conceived,
what God has prepared for those who love him” - There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love.
- Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same intention (for whoever has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin).
- Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
- Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
- This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it. - No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends.
- But Jesus has now obtained a more excellent ministry, and to that degree he is the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted through better promises.
