So also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. 2 Peter 1:4	Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. reward desires world
They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. But God has protected me right up to this present time so I can testify to everyone, from the least to the greatest. Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
