Help (2/2)

  • Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
  • Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
  • Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
    but righteousness delivers from death.
  • Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
    when it is in your power to do it.
  • The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
    and his ears toward their cry.
  • For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
    abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
  • Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!
    O Lord, hear my voice!
    Let your ears be attentive
    to the voice of my pleas for mercy!
  • But as for me, I will look to the Lord;
    I will wait for the God of my salvation;
    my God will hear me.
  • Learn to do good;
    seek justice,
    correct oppression;
    bring justice to the fatherless,
    plead the widow's cause.
  • Remove far from me falsehood and lying;
    give me neither poverty nor riches;
    feed me with the food that is needful for me.
  • You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child. If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their cry, and my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless.
  • When goods increase, they increase who eat them, and what advantage has their owner but to see them with his eyes?
  • May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus.
  • We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.
  • Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you,
    and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.
    For the Lord is a God of justice;
    blessed are all those who wait for him.
  • Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
  • Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him, and he will act.
    He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
    and your justice as the noonday.
  • I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me;
    I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me.
    I said, “Here I am, here I am,”
    to a nation that was not called by my name.
  • Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.
  • For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
  • Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
