Bible Verses about 'Help'

  • I lift up my eyes to the mountains;
    from where will I receive help?
    My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.
  • Our help is in the name of the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.
  • God is our refuge and our strength,
    a well-proved help in times of trouble.
  • Help us, O God, our Savior,
    for the glory of your name;
    deliver us and wipe away our sins
    for your name’s sake.
  • For I, the Lord, am your God
    and I grasp your right hand.
    It is I who say to you,
    Do not fear; I will help you.
  • Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace when we are in need of help.
  • And if one should fall,
    his companion will help him up.
    How pathetic is the man who is alone and falls
    and has no one to assist him to his feet.
  • Do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be afraid, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you and give you help,
    I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
  • In my anguish I cried out to the Lord
    and called to my God for help.
    From his temple he heard my voice,
    and my cry to him reached his ears.
  • Because I delivered the poor who appealed for help
    and the orphan who had no one to protect him.
    The blessing of the wretched was given to me,
    and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.
  • A true friend is one at all times,
    and a brother is born to render help in time of need.
  • For I know that through your prayers and with the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will result in deliverance for me.
  • In peace I lie down and sleep,
    for only with your help, O Lord,
    can I rest secure.
  • But I have had help from God to this very day, and I stand here and testify to both the lowly and the great. I assert nothing more than what the Prophets and Moses said would occur: that the Christ must suffer, and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light to the people and to the Gentiles.
  • Do you suppose that I cannot appeal to my Father for help and he will not immediately send me more than twelve legions of angels?
  • Why are you so disheartened, O my soul?
    Why do you sigh within me?
    Place your hope in God;
    for I will once again praise him,
    my Savior and my God.
  • You have given me the shield of your salvation;
    your right hand sustains me,
    and your goodness makes me great.
    You broadened the path beneath me
    so that my feet have never stumbled.
  • Surely God is my helper;
    the Lord is the one who sustains me.
  • The righteous call out, and the Lord hears them;
    he rescues them from all their troubles.
    The Lord remains close to the brokenhearted,
    and he saves those whose spirit is crushed.
  • You shall not oppress the widow or the orphan. If you mistreat them and they cry out to me for help, I will surely hear their cry, and my fury will burn and I will put you to death by the sword. Your wives will be widows and your children will be orphans.
  • Hear my prayer, O Lord;
    do not be deaf to my cry
    or ignore my weeping.
    For I am a wayfarer before you,
    a nomad like all my ancestors.
  • And I will ask the Father,
    and he will give you another Advocate
    to be with you forever.
  • And the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I wish to make another creature who will be like him.”
  • If anyone is rich in worldly possessions
    and sees a brother in need
    but refuses to open his heart,
    how can the love of God abide in him?
  • I lifted up my voice in prayer to him;
    his praise was on my tongue.

For God would not be so unjust as to ignore your work and the love that you have shown for his name by the services you have rendered to the saints and still continue to render.
