- And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
- How happy is the one whom God reproves;
therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. - Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.
- I did not shrink from doing anything helpful, proclaiming the message to you and teaching you publicly and from house to house.
- For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication;
that each one of you know how to control your own body in holiness and honor,
not with lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God. - Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.
- Therefore you are great, O Lord God; for there is no one like you, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
- By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

And after it was sold, were not the proceeds at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You did not lie to us but to God!”
- God's love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him.
- We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.

who walks in his ways. - Pray then in this way:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. - For God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.

who greatly delight in his commandments. - Not that I am referring to being in need; for I have learned to be content with whatever I have.
