- “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

and will be with the last. - I the Lord am your God; follow my statutes, and be careful to observe my ordinances, and hallow my sabbaths that they may be a sign between me and you, so that you may know that I the Lord am your God.
- You shall be holy to me; for I the Lord am holy, and I have separated you from the other peoples to be mine.
- I, I am he who comforts you;
why then are you afraid of a mere mortal who must die,
a human being who fades like grass? - No one, when tempted, should say, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil and he himself tempts no one.
