The name of the Lord is a tower of strength; the upright man runs to it and finds refuge. The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.
Then he took a cup, and after offering thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from this, all of you. For this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.”And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.”

A fool gives free rein to his anger, but a wise man bides his time and calms it.Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back.
Do not let this book of the law be absent from your mouth; meditate upon it day and night, so that you might carefully observe everything that is written in it. Then you will prosper and be successful.Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
For six days work can be done, but the seventh is a Sabbath of rest, a holy assembly. You will do no work on it; it is a Sabbath of the Lord in all of your dwellings. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of complete rest, an official day for holy assembly. It is the Lord’s Sabbath day, and it must be observed wherever you live.
The body is one, although it has many parts; and all the parts, though many, form one body. So it is with Christ. The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.
Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, it will be enough for us.”Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.”
These are the words of the Lord of hosts: Stand at the crossroads and look around; ask for the ancient paths. When you are shown where the good way lies, walk along it and your souls will find rest. However, they said, “We will not take it.”This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’”
So today acknowledge it and take it to heart that the Lord is God in the heavens above and on the earth below. There is no other. So remember this and keep it firmly in mind: The Lord is God both in heaven and on earth, and there is no other.
If someone among you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without finding fault, and it will be given to him.If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
Jesus looked at them and said, “For men it is impossible, but not for God. For God all things are possible.”Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”
But when the disciples saw him walking on the water they thought it was a ghost and they cried out, for they all had seen him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them, saying, “Have courage! It is I! Do not be afraid!”But when they saw him walking on the water, they cried out in terror, thinking he was a ghost. They were all terrified when they saw him. But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage! I am here!”
God is not human, that he should lie, or the son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act, does he promise and then not fulfill it?God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
Then it will come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified.I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.
Enter through the narrow gate, for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and those who find it are few in number. You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.
For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow before me, and every tongue shall give praise to God.”For the Scriptures say, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will declare allegiance to God.’”
A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in abundance. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

Indeed, the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any two-edged sword, it pierces to the point where it divides soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and the intentions of the heart. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. The measure that you use for others will be used to measure you.Give, and you will receive.
