  • And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
  • For thou wilt light my candle:
    the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
  • For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.

    he knoweth what is in the darkness,
    and the light dwelleth with him.

  • The statutes of the Lord are right,
    rejoicing the heart:
    the commandment of the Lord is pure,
    enlightening the eyes.

    because the Lord hath anointed me
    to preach good tidings unto the meek;
    he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
    to proclaim liberty to the captives,
    and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.
  • But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
  • Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
  • And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
  • Depart from evil, and do good;
    seek peace, and pursue it.
  • By humility and the fear of the Lord
    are riches, and honour, and life.
  • The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
  • Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
  • Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
  • And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
  • Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses;
    for they have been ever of old.
    Remember not the sins of my youth,
    nor my transgressions:
    according to thy mercy remember thou me
    for thy goodness' sake, O Lord.
  • And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
  • I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
  • Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
  • Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
  • Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
