- Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you both see and hear.
- Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time.
- Now, discipline always seems painful rather than pleasant at the time, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

and he will guide them to springs of the water of life,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. - Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
- I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth. - Why do you see the speck in your neighbor's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye?
- For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.
- There is no Holy One like the Lord,
no one besides you;
there is no Rock like our God. - I keep the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. - A friend loves at all times,
and kinsfolk are born to share adversity. - Fools show their anger at once,
but the prudent ignore an insult. - Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.
- What then should we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet, if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
- To make an apt answer is a joy to anyone,
and a word in season, how good it is! - Let your word be ‘Yes, Yes’ or ‘No, No’; anything more than this comes from the evil one.

- Though the fig tree does not blossom,
and no fruit is on the vines;
though the produce of the olive fails
and the fields yield no food;
though the flock is cut off from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will exult in the God of my salvation. - For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
- Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord God, and not rather that they should turn from their ways and live?
