- My soul yearns for you in the night,
my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
For when your judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. - For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and in their eagerness to be rich some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains.
- Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
- For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
- So that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints.
- So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.
- Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. - I know that there is nothing better for them than to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live; moreover, it is God's gift that all should eat and drink and take pleasure in all their toil.
- He replied, “What is impossible for mortals is possible for God.”
- For God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.
- Do not envy the violent
and do not choose any of their ways;
for the perverse are an abomination to the Lord,
but the upright are in his confidence. - It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to put confidence in mortals. - May God continue to bless us;
let all the ends of the earth revere him. - And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
- A gift opens doors;
it gives access to the great. - All day long the wicked covet,
but the righteous give and do not hold back. - Happy are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord. - With the Lord on my side I do not fear.
What can mortals do to me? - The fear of others lays a snare,
but one who trusts in the Lord is secure. - All deeds are right in the sight of the doer,
but the Lord weighs the heart. - Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.
- So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.
- Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
- Because sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the human heart is fully set to do evil.
- He was despised and rejected by others;
a man of suffering and acquainted with infirmity;
and as one from whom others hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him of no account.
