- For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. - For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
- I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
- The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit. - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
- Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
- He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

See, your king comes to you,

trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun. - Lord, hear my prayer,
listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
come to my relief. - And if we are careful to obey all this law before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness.
- The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power;
in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress. - The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others. - We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.
- Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
- He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless. - Better a little with righteousness
than much gain with injustice. - Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value,
but righteousness delivers from death. - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
- He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is he.
