Bible Verses about 'We want you'
- The powerful suffer want and go hungry,
but those who seek the Lord want for no good thing. - You need to be steadfast if you want to do the will of God and receive what he has promised.
- You want something that you cannot have, so you commit murder. And you covet something but cannot obtain it, so you engage in quarrels and fights. You do not have because you do not ask.
- Prepare in advance what you want to say,
and return to the Lord.
Say to him, “Take away all guilt
and give us what is good,
so that we may present as offerings
the bullocks from our stalls.” - For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, and those of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh. They are in conflict with one another, so that you cannot do what you want.
- Indeed, persecution will afflict all who want to lead a godly life in Christ Jesus.
- All I want is to come to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and to share in his sufferings by becoming conformed to his death.
- However, those who want riches fall into temptations and are trapped into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.
- And now, brethren, I want to remind you of the gospel I proclaimed to you, which you received and in which you stand firm. Through it you are also being saved, provided that you are holding fast to what I proclaimed to you. If not, then you have believed in vain.
- Jesus replied, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
- I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love so that they may grow rich in their complete understanding as they come to the knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Christ.
- If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.
- The Lord is my shepherd;
there is nothing I shall lack.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me to tranquil streams. - Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done.
- And if we know that he hears us
in regard to whatever we ask him,
we may be sure
that all we ask of him will be ours. - But if we hope for what we do not yet see, then we wait for it with patience.
- In everything, deal with others as you would like them to deal with you. This is the Law and the Prophets.
- Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right?
- If we claim that we have fellowship with him
while we continue to live in darkness,
we are lying and do not live in the truth. - If you abide in me
and my words abide in you,
you may ask for whatever you wish,
and it will be done for you. - For I am longing to see you so that I may bestow on you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or, rather, so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.
- Yet, O Lord, you are our Father;
we are the clay and you are our potter;
all of us are the work of your hands. - You are from your father, the devil,
and you choose to carry out your father’s desires.
He was a murderer from the beginning,
and he does not abide by the truth,
for there is no truth in him.
When he lies,
he speaks in accord with his own nature,
for he is a liar
and the father of lies. - What then shall we say? Should we persist in sin in order that grace may abound? Of course not! We have died to sin. How can we live in it any longer?
- For we brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing out. If we have food and clothing, let us be content with these.
- Although we are human beings, we do not engage in battle according to human standards.
- Father, allow those you have given me
to be with me where I am,
so that they may behold my glory,
which you have bestowed on me
because you loved me
before the foundation of the world. - This saying can be trusted:
If we have died with him,
we shall also live with him. - Be on your guard that you do not lose what we have worked to accomplish so that you will receive your reward in full.
- For we are God’s coworkers; you are God’s field, God’s building.
- But who am I, and what are your people,
that we should be able to do this?
All things belong to you,
and everything that we have given you is from your hand. - O Lord, let your kindness rest upon us,
for we have placed our hope in you. - Therefore, we love because he first loved us.
- For we will become partners with Christ only if we maintain firmly until the end the confidence we originally had.
- What then? Should we sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Of course not!
- Beloved,
we are God’s children now.
What we shall be
has not yet been revealed.
However, we do know that when he appears
we shall be like him,
for we shall see him as he really is.
Everyone who has this hope in him
keeps himself pure,
just as he is pure. - For we walk by faith, not by sight.
- Beloved,
if our hearts do not condemn us,
we can approach God with confidence
and receive from him whatever we ask,
because we obey his commandments
and do whatever is pleasing to him. - Those of you who seek to be justified by the Law have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from grace.
- As we proceed in the path of your judgments,
we wait for you, O Lord;
your name and your renown
are all that our heart desires. - For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more certain it is that, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
- This is how we can be certain
that we abide in him
and that he abides in us:
he has given us a share in his Spirit. - For from the beginning
you have heard the message
that we should love one another. - I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Repent and live!
- This is the message
that we have heard from him
and that we declare to you:
God is light,
and there is no darkness at all in him. - How great you are, Lord God! There is no one like you, and there is no God except you alone, as everything that we have heard confirms.
- Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time.
- To you, O God of my fathers,
I offer thanks and praise
because you have given me wisdom and power.
Now you have made known to me
what we asked of you;
you have revealed to us the king’s dream. - And thus we can have confidence in him
that if we ask anything
that is in accordance with his will,
he hears us. - For ‘In him we live and move and have our being.’ As even your own poets have said, ‘We are all his offspring.’
