- The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.
- For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
- Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.
- Wash and make yourselves clean.
Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
stop doing wrong. - So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
- For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
- But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.
- But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed. - Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave the guilt of my sin. - I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
- This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
- The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless,
but it is the ruin of those who do evil. - But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die.
- Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life,
but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die. - Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
- Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin.
- I have swept away your offenses like a cloud,
your sins like the morning mist.
Return to me,
for I have redeemed you. - You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.
- That God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
- This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
- When I kept silent,
my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long. - Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
- Who is a God like you,
who pardons sin and forgives the transgression
of the remnant of his inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever
but delight to show mercy. - As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
